Spurrell Foraging are seeking enthusiastic new team members to help with the harvest and maintenance of their sustainably grown and wild foraged produce in Silvan, Victoria.

The Role

Spurrell Foraging produce native botanicals, edible leaves, and edible flowers to supply direct to cafes, restaurants, bars and distillers throughout Victoria and Sydney. They are seeking sub-contractors to join their team and assist with daily harvests and farm maintenance. 

This position is great if you enjoy being outdoors, patting dogs, learning about edible plants and Australian native flora and being surrounded by a group of like-minded people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Picking of the produce, including flowers, leaves and native botanicals

  • Packaging produce

  • Sorting products in preparation for delivery

  • Loading delivery vehicles

  • Weeding, steam weeding, seeding, propagation and general farm maintenance

Skills & requirements

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to show initiative

  • An enthusiastic approach to early mornings and all weather conditions

  • While some plant knowledge is favourable, you will receive on the job training about

    the plants and produce

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints

  • Attention to detail and an eye for quality

  • Good time management skills and ability to build a positive relationship with team

    members and customers
