Seeking market garden share farmer : Scenic Rim, QLD

Organic farm-59.png

Overview

Hidden Farm in the Scenic Rim QLD, with a beautiful mix of 3 acres of alluvial flats frontage to the head waters of the Bremer river and rolling bush land. The farm was purchased a year ago and has had extensive work done on it since; including clearing, electric (solar) and water infrastructure and automatic irrigation to all farmed land. Owners have a passion for farming and a vision to develop a center of influence in the community, hence purchasing this property. However, they also have heavy commitments with other businesses, and for this reason they are looking for passionate, like-minded people to join their efforts and make this project thrive.

There's currently approximately 2500 m2 of market garden and another 5 acres of orchard planted. There is opportunity for expansion of both, up to 3 acres of market garden possibly. The vision once the farm is well stablished, is to set up camp grounds, a trainig school and a health retreat as the Lord permits. Nonetheless the first priority is to make the market garden profitable.

Located 40 min away from Ipswich and 1h away from Brisbane, there is plenty of opportunity for sales in the area. Currently for the market garden: one part time worker 2-3 days a week plus owner working on Sundays. Access to electricity and water, plenty of space for van/caravan. There are plans for accomodation in the future as the project moves forward.
